Primary Responsibilities & Attitude

The Associate, Client Services will be an integral part of our Vancouver team. On a day-to-day basis you will be assisting the Director, Client Services with managing all aspects of your clients’ service requirements and handling incoming inquiries from clients and their shareholders. Our business is continually evolving, and you will help us shape its growth. We’re looking for someone who is known for their work ethic, taking initiative and considers themselves to be entrepreneurial, innovative and likes a challenge.
 
Key Accountabilities
 
The Associate will build strong relationships with our Directors and our clients. You are someone they can count on to be available when they need you, find solutions to their challenges and pays attention to detail. You are responsible to:
 
·       Communicate and coordinate service and operational activities within Odyssey’s Calgary office
·       Manage day-to-day interactions with a portfolio of clients, including their counsel and advisors
·       Manage certain interactions with our clients’ shareholders with a focus on efficient service
·       Maintain a strong focus on retention and growth by delivering exceptional service
·       Onboard clients, with a focus on making the transition process seamless for our clients
·       Assist Directors in scheduling and preparing for shareholder meetings including mailings, proxy tabulation, attending and preparing scrutineer’s reports
·       Manage client requests and general inquiries, including preparation of reports, treasury orders, transfers, dividend payouts, etc.
 
Skills and Experience
 
·       Prior experience in securities or at a brokerage is an asset but not required.
·       Exceptional communication skills (written and oral), strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task
·       Solutions-based attitude, answering inquiries with “yes, I can do that for you” or “let me find a way to make this happen”
·       Attention to detail and takes pride in work
·       Enjoys working with a small, closely-knit team in a fast-paced environment
·       Considers themselves technically sound and diligent
·       Completion of Canadian Securities and similar courses is preferred, but not essential
·       Strong proficiency with Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and other desktop applications
