Primary Responsibilities & Attitude
Reporting to the Senior Director, The Director, Payments is responsible for ensuring the company’s payment strategy, is efficient, secure, and scalable across the organization. This role involves oversight of all inbound and outbound payment processes, payment audits, consistent compliance with payment regulations, and alignment of payment infrastructure with broader business goals. The Director acts as the key liaison between finance, technology, risk, compliance, and external payment partners.

Key Responsibilities
(1) Leadership & Oversight
· Lead and manage a team of Payments Associates to drive daily SLA and KPI performance targets.
· Help identify payment trends, risks, and performance inefficiencies.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize operations
(2) Operations & Optimization
· Organize daily operations of all payment functions, including wire transfers, ACH, cross-border transactions and check clearing.
· Manage team workload, scheduling, and capacity planning
· Ensure consistent achievement of productivity, accuracy, and quality targets.
· Review daily and weekly reports to ensure accurate and timely processing.
(3) Technology & Systems
· Collaborate on the selection, integration, and enhancement of payment gateways and platforms.
· Manage upgrades, migrations, and performance of core payment infrastructure.
· Ensure security protocols and fraud prevention measures are embedded into all systems.
(4) Risk, Compliance & Controls
· Ensure compliance with local and global payment regulations.
· Establish strong internal controls over payment processes and policies.
· Act as a key liaison for audits, risk assessments, and regulatory reviews.
(5) Team Management
· Provide direction, coaching, and support to drive team performance and engagement.
· Analyze performance metrics and implement action plans to address gaps
· Organize and coordinate projects and closings within deadlines
Skills and Experience
· Deep understanding of domestic and international payment systems.
· Experience with ERP, TMS, Kyriba and payment processing platforms.
· Strong knowledge of financial operations, treasury, and fintech/payment industry trends.
· Experience in managing large-scale payment operations or transformation initiatives.
· Excellent communication, team collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
· Post-secondary diploma or degree in accounting or equivalent work experience
· Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task
· Solutions-based attitude, answering inquiries with “yes, I can do that for you” or “let me find a way to make this happen”
· Strong proficiency with Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and other desktop applications

Compensation
$75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
