Primary Responsibilities and Attitude
 
Reporting to the VP, Finance, the IT Director is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for the organization’s information technology function. This role oversees enterprise systems, network infrastructure, Microsoft 365 applications, end‑user computing, cybersecurity, and vendor partnerships to ensure reliable, secure, and cost‑effective technology services. The IT Director collaborates closely with senior leaders to align technology initiatives with business objectives, manages budgets and procurement, enforces IT policies and compliance standards, and ensures business continuity through effective disaster recovery planning.
 
  • Oversee the maintenance, performance, and reliability of corporate servers, ensuring regular updates, patches, and proactive monitoring to minimize downtime and optimize system efficiency.
  • Lead and manage the IT department, including IT support analyst.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and management of Windows-based systems and Microsoft 365 applications (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook, etc.).
  • Manage and optimize corporate network infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity and seamless integration of internal and cloud-based systems.
  • Oversee the deployment, maintenance, and management of end-user devices (desktops, laptops, mobile devices), including software updates and patches.
  • Ensure data security, compliance, and best practices for corporate data management and IT policies.
  • Collaborate with other department leaders to assess and implement technology solutions that improve business processes and productivity.
  • Create and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining high standards of service delivery.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for IT services, software, and hardware procurement.
  • Develop and enforce IT security policies and ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Lead IT disaster recovery and business continuity planning, ensuring system reliability in case of emergencies.
  • Own IT procurement efforts, including the evaluation, selection, and purchase of hardware, software, and IT services. Ensure that all acquisitions align with organizational needs, technical specifications, and budgetary constraints.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for DTCC (Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation) and CDS (Canadian Depository for Securities)
  • Manage and oversee the office's Internet Service Providers (ISPs), ensuring reliable and efficient connectivity, troubleshooting service issues, and coordinating with vendors to resolve any connectivity disruptions.
  • Manage and oversee the deployment, licensing, and updates of corporate software applications, ensuring compliance, security, and seamless integration across all systems.
 
Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in Information Technology, including at least 5 years in a senior IT leadership or management role overseeing enterprise infrastructure, systems, and IT support operations.
  • Proven experience leading and managing IT teams, including responsibility for mentoring, performance management, and professional development of technical staff.
  • Extensive hands‑on experience with Windows‑based server environments, including system maintenance, performance optimization, patch management, monitoring, and uptime reliability.
  • Advanced experience administering Microsoft 365 platforms, including Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook, and related collaboration, identity, and security services.
  • Demonstrated expertise in network infrastructure management, including LAN/WAN environments, VPNs, firewalls, cloud integrations, and ensuring stable and secure connectivity across hybrid systems.
  • Strong background in overseeing the deployment, maintenance, and security of end‑user computing environments, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and corporate software applications.
  • Proven experience establishing and enforcing IT security policies, data governance standards, and technology controls to protect corporate data, ensure compliance, and mitigate risk.
  • Experience leading IT disaster recovery and business continuity planning, including documenting, testing, and maintaining recovery procedures to ensure operational resilience.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross‑functionally with senior leaders and department stakeholders to evaluate, implement, and optimize technology solutions that improve business performance and productivity.
  • Proven track record of managing IT budgets, forecasting expenses, and delivering cost‑effective solutions while maintaining high service levels and system reliability.
  • Extensive experience in IT procurement and vendor management, including evaluation and selection of hardware, software, and IT services, contract negotiation, license management, and vendor performance oversight.
  • Experience serving as a primary technical liaison with external organizations, including financial services or market infrastructure entities such as DTCC (Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation) and CDS (Canadian Depository for Securities), or equivalent regulated institutions.
  • Demonstrated experience managing Internet Service Providers (ISPs), including vendor coordination, issue escalation, and resolution of connectivity disruptions.
  • Experience managing the deployment, licensing, updates, and compliance of corporate software portfolios, ensuring secure and seamless integration across enterprise systems.
  • Prior experience in a regulated or compliance‑driven environment (financial services, capital markets, or similar highly regulated industries) is strongly preferred.

Compensation

$110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
